Bringing Color Across Continents

UBABY Color began in China in 2015 with a simple belief:

Every child is born creative, and creativity can be nurtured through the right environment, guidance, and experiences.

Over the past decade, we have developed a structured and research-driven approach to art education through our proprietary 108-Color System. Using art as a medium, children learn to observe, think, create, and connect ideas across disciplines including science, geography, history, astronomy, biology, and music.

We believe art is more than a skill—it is a language of self-expression. Rather than focusing only on what a child creates, we care about how they see, think, and understand the world around them.

Today, as artificial intelligence continues to transform the future, creativity, curiosity, and independent thinking have become more valuable than ever. While technology can process information, it cannot replace imagination.

At UBABY Color, we help children develop the confidence to explore, the courage to express themselves, and the ability to think creatively in a rapidly changing world.

As both an educator and a parent, I dreamed of bringing this approach to families in the United States. When I discovered the Upland community, I found a place that shares these values and became the home of the first UBABY Color flagship campus in North America.

Our mission remains simple:

To inspire children to explore boldly, create confidently, and grow into thoughtful, creative thinkers for the future.

    Vivian Zhao

    Chief Executive Officer

I dreamed of creating a true “third place” for families—a place beyond home and school where kids feel safe and comfortable enough to let their imaginations run completely wild, while parents have a cozy space to slow down, breathe, connect, or simply do absolutely nothing for a little while. 💜

Fun Fact: I’m a certified Frenchie fanatic and a mom of three—two little humans, Olivia and Charlotte, and our Frenchie, Cream. Cream is technically the oldest sister of the family, but somehow she’s also the one constantly being chased under the bed by her two younger sisters.

  • YOOBOO

    Chief Imagination Officer

Curious, colorful, and always ready to explore, YOOBOO believes there’s no such thing as a “wrong” idea—only another way to discover something new.

Fun fact: YOOBOO loves ice cream, mixing colors, and the color purple! Purple is YOOBOO’s favorite because it feels a little magical—just like when two colors mix together and become something completely new.

    Scarlett Tong

    Chinese Literacy & Writing Teacher

Bio / Teaching Philosophy: I believe learning Chinese should be an engaging and meaningful journey for every child. In my classroom, I love creating a warm, interactive environment where kids can build confidence, stay curious, and naturally fall in love with the language through stories, games, and daily conversations. I’m so excited to grow, learn, and explore together with your little ones at UBABY Color!

Fun Fact: When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll usually find me staying active—whether it’s swimming, working out at the gym, or playing badminton! I’m also a big fan of comedy and love finding joy and humor in everyday life.

    Criss Reyes

    Kids’ Art Teacher

I love art, because when I am painting I feel relaxed and time stops for me. I love animals, especially dogs and being surrounded by nature.

Fun fact about me is that I look younger than I actually am, and that I don't drink caffeine so I can function without coffee.
